AN UNWANTED MARRIAGE

          Mom and Ed got married.  Bronco and I weren’t there but later I saw the pictures.  The marriage lasted nine days.

            On the evening of the ninth day Mom and Ed were drinking and got into a fight.  Ed jerked the phone off the wall and hit Mom in the head: knocking her out.  I ran across the street to the neighbor and they called the police.  The police took him away for the night.

                One thing that really bothered me was the look on Ed's face. "NOTHING!"

No emotion.

          I missed school the next day.
