FOOTPRINTS OF MY LIFE

PROLOGUE

MARCH, 1954

The two lane highway stretched before the black, 1949 Ford; as we left Magdalena towards Albuquerque.

My little brother, Bronco, slept next to me on the back seat.  Daddy was talkative to Mommy as he drove. He was unaware that a pivotal moment had happened in my life.

The New Mexico sunset lit up the sky, as we passed through Socorro.

My young mind was heavy with the secret my mother had told me….

The future was before us…but who could bear it?
